Paris Baguette - A new spot on Broughton Street, and one that immediately feels familiar in a good way. When you walk in, it has that European café rhythm, glass cases lined with pastries, the smell of fresh bread, and the quiet decision fatigue that comes from having too many good options. The focus here is the pastries. Dozens of them, all made in house, ranging from classic French-inspired staples to slightly more playful, modern takes. Croissants, laminated doughs, filled pastries, and beautifully finished desserts that look like they belong behind glass in Paris but are very much baked right here. They have bread and sandwiches too, but the pastry case is the reason to stop. Coffee is handled well too, with Lavazzo Coffee anchoring the café side of things, which makes it easy to settle in instead of just grabbing and going. Paris Baguette has managed to pull off something that is harder than it looks, a space that feels polished but not stiff, and abundant without feeling overwhelming. It is a welcome addition to Broughton Street, especially if what you want is that European café feeling without trying too hard to sell it to you.
